READY TO BEGIN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?

STEP 1:

For your initial visit, you will need to schedule an appointment with our office. Before your consultation, we prefer for you to have recent (within the last 6 months) lab work so that a treatment plan can be made on the day you come in. If you do not have recent lab work, you can have your blood drawn in our office 2 days prior to your consultation.

Upon arriving at your consultation, a provider will carefully screen you by evaluating your past medical history, any current medications you take, and your vital signs. The provider will then use her discretion (based on the FDA recommendations) to determine if Semaglutide/Tirzepatide is a safe and good option for you. You will also have the option to have a Fit3D Body Scan performed to establish baseline measurements.

STEP 2:

If you are eligible to start medical weight management therapy, you will be able to receive your first injection on the day of your initial consultation. You will then come in once weekly for injections. There will be periodic weigh-ins, and you will be followed closely by a provider that can help control any side effects you may experience. Your regimen will be customized based on your results.

STEP 3:

In 12 weeks from the day of your first injection, we will have your labs drawn again to ensure that the medication and your dosage are both effective and at a healthy level for your body.

What Is Body Contouring?

Body contouring refers to non-surgical treatments that help reshape and smooth areas of the body by targeting stubborn fat, loose skin, and cellulite. These treatments don’t replace weight loss but are ideal for fine-tuning your results—especially in areas that resist diet and exercise.

At Oak House Med Spa & Wellness, our Artemis T-Shape 2 body contouring treatment uses radiofrequency, infrared light, and vacuum massage to tone the skin, reduce fat deposits, and improve circulation—all with no downtime. It’s a safe, comfortable way to sculpt your body and boost your confidence.

FAQs

  • WHAT IS SEMAGLUTIDE?

Semaglutide (Ozempic) is a groundbreaking GLP-1 receptor agonist that is an FDA-approved injectable weight-loss medication. It is the first once-weekly medication in its class that helps with chronic weight management.

Semaglutide/Ozempic was originally developed for patients with Type 2 diabetes, but when providers and pharmaceutical developers noticed how much weight their patients were losing, they began to study Semaglutide/Ozempic exclusively for weight loss. A series of clinical trials known as the STEP clinical trials demonstrated that almost 90% of patients lost 5% or more of their body weight.

Semaglutide/Ozempic injection is also used to reduce the risk of a stroke, heart attack, or death in adults who have type 2 diabetes along with heart and blood vessel disease.

  • WHAT IS TIRZEPATIDE?

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is another injection approved by the FDA for weight loss. Tirzepatide increases insulin secretion while slowing the rate at which the stomach empties food by replicating a natural hormone.

  • WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SEMAGLUTIDE AND TIRZEPATIDE?

In a comparative study for type 2 diabetes, Semaglutide lowered A1C levels by about 1% to 2%, while Tirzepatide lowered A1C by 2% to 2.5%.

Weight loss with Semaglutide ranged from 6 to 10 kg (13.2 to 22 lb). With Tirzepatide, weight loss ranged from 7 to 13 kg (15.4 to 28.6 lb). Tirzepatide may have a better effect to help lower blood sugar and lead to weight loss in some patients but may be associated with more stomach side effects at higher doses.

  • HOW DO SEMAGLUTIDE AND TIRZEPATIDE WORK?

By mimicking a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), these medications target the area of the brain that regulates appetite. They are a powerful appetite suppressant and also work by increasing insulin production and inhibiting the production of glucagon, a hormone that increases blood sugar.

  • WHAT ARE THE OVERALL BENEFITS?
    • Long-term safe weight loss that is approved by the FDA when used with diet and exercise
    • Reduces food cravings and gives satisfaction with smaller meals
    • Delays gastric emptying, which helps you feel full longer
    • Suppresses your appetite
    • Improves blood pressure
    • Control blood sugar levels and balance out insulin secretion.
    • Decreases repeat heart attacks and strokes
    • Neuroprotective
    • Lowers weight, waist size, and inflammation
  • WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS?

Although rarely reported, the most common side effects of Semaglutide & Tirzepatide are nausea, vomiting, constipation, and diarrhea. These typically occur in the earlier stages of treatment and resolve over time.

Your provider will prepare you with proper instructions on dieting and supplements in order to prevent any of the side effects.

  • HOW LONG CAN I BE ON SEMAGLUTIDE/TIRZEPATIDE?

Your prescriber will work with you to help manage your weight loss and determine how long you continue to be on Semaglutide/Tirzepatide therapy. As long as you aren’t experiencing any adverse effects, it’s likely that you will be able to stay on it for as long as you need to.

  • HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Once starting treatment, most people lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week, but this can vary depending on a number of factors. Many patients achieve their weight loss and health goals within a year and have better long-term success in maintaining their results than those who have not taken Semaglutide/Tirzepatide.

  • IS SEMAGLUTIDE/TIRZEPATIDE A STIMULANT?

No, Semaglutide/Tirzepatide is not a stimulant. While other weight loss medications, like phentermine, have stimulating effects that curb your appetite, Semaglutide/Tirzepatide work differently by supporting natural and healthier functions of the body.
